Who are we?
Elephant in the Room Productions is a new performing arts company based in Adelaide, Australia dedicated to producing and supporting new talent and works, to showcasing Adelaide's talent nationwide, and to expanding Adelaide's artistic calendar by the staging of high quality artistic works.
Let's talk about the Elephant in the Room...
The Elephant in the Room refers to something obvious but not talked about. Elephant in the Room Productions is committed to presenting the arts in a way that acknowledges its capacity to confront, to challenge, and to deal with subject matter that is directly relevant to modern life. Where appropriate, we aim to present art with a social conscience; art that deals with the issues it depicts directly, but sensitively; art that addresses the elephant in the room; and to leverage that art towards helping those affected by the issues we depict.
In 2017, Elephant in the Room Productions will be presenting Bizet's Carmen in the flour shed of the Hart's Mill complex in Port Adelaide. Using it's themes of class divide and the awful effects of domestic violence, Elephant in the Room Productions will be partnering with the Zahra Foundation to use this production as a way to raise money to directly support women and children directly affected by this issue.
