Adelaide Fringe 2022
Join us in 2022 for three incredible cabaret performances in three amazing venues across Adelaide.
In ‘My Dick (and other reasons I’ll never get the role of my dreams)’ Jamie Moffatt presents an incredible tribute to Broadway and the women who’ve sung there.
In ‘Positive’ Katie Elle Jackson explores everything from X-box widows to annoyingly chipper workmates in a collection of hilarious original songs
And in ‘Never After: A Cautionary Tale of Marriage From a Child of Divorce’ Grace Carter presents a deeply personal look at the effects a broken home can have on a child just starting to open herself up to love.
Carnival of the Animals
The magic of live orchestra came to the lush gardens of the Adelaide Zoo as Elephant in Room Productions presented the Adelaide Concert Orchestra in an immersive outdoor concert series of two sold-out, family friendly nights. The programme featured Camille Saint-Saëns’ ‘Carnival of the Animals’ and ‘Danse Macabre’, and Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ with the latter two being arranged for the ensemble by John Rotar. The concert was narrated by Jamie Moffatt with sound engineering by Sam Lench.
‘Carnival of the Animals’ was staged Friday 29 January and Saturday 30 January 2021
INTO THE WOODS
Do you know what you wish? Are you certain what you wish is what you want?
A young maiden, downtrodden. A lad, poor and hungry. A little girl, unaware of the danger that follows. A couple, desperate to start a family. A witch, cursed and bitter. To find their fortunes these figures venture Into the Woods, but within these dark gardens lies more than they bargained for.
Running from the 4th to the 7th of November 2020, Into the Woods was directed by Scott Sharrad and musically directed by Jane Feast.
Myth & Music: Midnight Sun
Odin, Thor, Freya, Loki. These names are legendary, but do you really know their story?
Ancient tales told with the music of the frozen north.
In August 2017 8 stunning singers joined together in the sublime acoustics of Adelaide’s iconic St Peter’s Cathedral and took their audience on a musical journey through the story of the world from the birth of Odin through to Ragnarok: The Twilight of the Gods.
Since then Midnight Sun has performed sold-out shows in Adelaide, and appeared at the national Festival of Voices in Hobart. In 2019/20, Midnight Sun was set to tour Australia but these performances have been suspended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Myth & Music: Once & Future
Tales of knights & chivalry mix with sublime vocal music in a celebration of British culture from medieval music through to the modern stylings of Queen & Jethro Tull.
In 2019 8 stunning singers came together in sublime acoustics to take audiences on a musical journey through the story of King Arthur. Featuring original text and arrangements of classic songs, Once and Future continues the ‘Myth and Music’ series started by our hit show ‘Midnight Sun’
Carmen
In 2017, Elephant in the Room Productions presented Bizet’s Carmen in the flour shed of the Hart’s Mill complex in Port Adelaide. Using it’s themes of class divide and the awful effects of domestic violence, Elephant in the Room Productions partnered with the Zahra Foundation to use this production as a way to raise money to directly support women and children directly affected by this issue.
